PNF-GMF, a positively sustainable partnership
National parks for all, with suitable facilities to accommodate visitors : this is the ambition of the environmental patronage between Parcs Nationaux de France (PNF or French National Parks) and the insurance group, Garantie Mutuelle des Fonctionnaires (GMF).
Devoted to "the shared enjoyment of nature", this first partnership, which focuses on accessibility, is structured around common fundamental values of solidarity.
This partnership thus aims to :
- facilitate access to nature for people with disabilities, families, children and the elderly;
- enable people to share the wealth of fauna, flora and emotions linked to the beauty of preserved landscapes.
The framework agreement was signed on April 21st 2008, by Mr. Patrick Forget, Executive Vice President of the GMF group and Mr. Jean-Pierre Giran, President of the Board of Directors of Parcs Nationaux de France (French National Parks), in the presence of Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, Secretary of State for Ecology..
The GMF group, a member of the United Nations Global Compact, places environmental and social criteria at the heart of its approach. With this partnership, the GMF group gives a new, sustainable dimension to its local actions, while participating in operations implemented by the national parks to facilitate access for people with disabilities.
Les parcs nationaux de France accessibles à tous avec GMF
PNF et la Garantie Mutuelle des Fonctionnaires – GMF ont noué un partenariat sur le thème « La nature en partage ». Un objectif : faciliter l’accès aux parcs nationaux français aux personnes en situation de handicap, aux familles, aux enfants et aux seniors, leur faire partager la richesse de la faune, de la flore et l’émotion liée à la beauté de paysages à l'exceptionnelle richesse et préservés grâce à la création d'aménagements et d'outils adaptés.
Ainsi, depuis 2008 GMF et PNF collaborent à un vaste programme d’amélioration de l’accessibilité dans les parcs nationaux, en prenant notamment en compte les 4 familles de handicap - physique, auditif, visuel et intellectuel.
Ce faisceau d'actions, qui implique aujourd'hui 8 des 9 parcs nationaux, se décline en 3 axes :
- aménagement des centres d’accueil et d’information dans les vallées,
- adaptation de certains sentiers et lieux d’observation de la faune et de la flore,
- développement d’outils pédagogiques et d’interprétation permettant de découvrir la nature et de profiter de ces « territoires d'exception ».
